Chief Operating Officer

Chief Operating Officer Eric Thompson leads the execution of the vision and strategy of the ALIGN PRECISION leadership team while managing daily business operations in coordination with department heads and leaders at our Centers of Excellence across the country. With more than 20 years delivering results in the aerospace engineering and manufacturing industry, Eric has the skills and insights to guide our nationwide team in the manufacturing of components and assemblies for our customers in the aerospace, defense sector, and semiconductor industries.

In his role as COO, Eric strives to create a culture in which team members take pride in their work and understand they are contributing to a greater mission. Emphasizing speed to market, he leverages his background in engineering to create faster, more agile teams that are more responsive to our customers' needs for high-quality, cost-efficient components and assemblies. He fosters seamless relationships between departments, business units, and facilities around the country to create innovative solutions. With experience on both the OEM and supplier side, Eric knows the value of relationships built on integrity, respect, accountability, and resiliency.

Eric joined ALIGN PRECISION after nearly 18 years at Aurora Flight Sciences—a Boeing company. Most recently he was Vice President of Manufacturing overseeing the company's manufacturing operations across multiple sectors. Prior to that, he held various leadership roles including General Manager and Manufacturing and Tooling Engineering Management positions. Before joining Aurora, he worked for the Department of Defense as a Research and Design Engineer and instructed courses on the use of advanced engineering software for 3D modeling.

Eric holds master's and bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering and a minor in finance from West Virginia University.
